About This Project
The Warrior Canine Complex is an alteration to an existing 4,300 SF barn, built in 1938 on the Schaeffer Road Farm in Boyds, MD. Initially built to provide milk for soldiers stationed in the Washington D.C. area during World War II, it will now provide a healing environment for Veterans and their families. This facility will help recovering Warriors reconnect with life, family, community, and each other through learning to train service dogs for their fellow Veterans. The new 7,683 SF structure will provide an animal hospital, kennels, and pound functions for the Warrior Canine Connection, which treats service dogs for veterans and others.
